Posted in the topic Need a Fast Amaron battery replacement in DIFC – any honest mobi in the forum News and Announcements
    July 11, 2026 12:46 AM PDT

I'm in a bit of a pickle here, my car decided to give up the ghost right outside the office in DIFC, and I've got a client meeting in an hour. I called a mobile number I found online, and the guy quoted me a price that seemed okay, but then started adding on "service fees" and "emergency call-out charges" that nearly doubled the cost. I told him to forget it. I'm pretty sure I need a new Amaron battery because mine is ancient and the heat here has definitely killed it. I've seen a few of those generic vans driving around, but you never know if they're legit or just slapping in a used battery. I'm looking for a Fast Amaron battery replacement in DIFC that can get to me quickly without any hidden fees, and who actually use a fresh, sealed battery, not some reconditioned unit . A colleague mentioned a service called Battery Zone that operates around the Trade Centre area and apparently has 24/7 availability , which sounds like a lifesaver for these situations. Has anyone here used a mobile service around DIFC recently that was actually transparent with their pricing and did a proper job, maybe even checking the alternator to make sure there's not a bigger issue? I'm willing to pay a fair price, I just don't want to be taken for a ride.

Posted in the topic 7 Series electrical fault – looking for a specialist who can act in the forum News and Announcements
    July 11, 2026 12:03 AM PDT

I'm really hoping someone can point me in the right direction because this electrical issue on my 2018 BMW 7 Series is driving me absolutely mad. The car has been flawless mechanically, but about a month ago, the iDrive screen started flickering intermittently, the parking sensors sometimes refuse to engage, and the adaptive headlights throw a warning light every few days. I've had the battery checked and replaced the fuse for the infotainment system, but nothing seems to resolve it permanently. I took it to a reputable garage, and they just hooked it up to a generic scanner, cleared some codes, and told me to "keep an eye on it," which was honestly a waste of my time and money. With these cars being so heavily reliant on complex electronic control modules and fiber optic networks, I know that finding a shop with the right diagnostic equipment and experience is critical. I was looking at https://800sayara.com/electrical-repair/ class=""> and it seems like they might have the expertise to handle this kind of fault, but I wanted to see if anyone here has actually used them or can recommend a similar specialist in the UAE who understands the electronics on German luxury cars. I'm willing to travel a bit if it means getting a proper fix rather than a temporary reset.

Posted in the topic That annoying clunk from the front end is back again in the forum Off-Topic Discussions
    July 10, 2026 12:39 AM PDT

I've got a 2018 Yukon Denali that I use for everything from school runs to towing the boat on weekends, and it's been a solid workhorse overall, but there's this clunking noise from the front suspension that just won't go away no matter what I do. I had the sway bar links replaced about six months ago because a garage said they were worn, and the noise went away for a little while, but now it's come back even louder than before and I can hear it every time I go over even the smallest bump or uneven surface. The car has about 120,000 kms on it now, and I'm starting to wonder if maybe the lower control arm bushes or the ball joints are the real culprits here, because the clunk feels like it's coming from deep in the suspension rather than just the sway bar links. What's frustrating is that I don't want to keep throwing money at parts that don't actually fix the problem, so I really need to find a shop that can properly diagnose the issue rather than just guessing and hoping for the best. I've been asking around in my off-road group and a few of the guys mentioned that they take their trucks to a place that specializes in American SUVs and actually knows how to pinpoint these sorts of suspension noises accurately. I've been looking for a Top GMC suspension repair in Al Barsha because I've heard that area has some workshops with a good reputation for working on these heavy vehicles, and I'm hoping they can get to the bottom of this clunk once and for all. Has anyone here experienced a similar noise on their Yukon, Suburban, or even a Silverado, and what ended up being the actual cause after all the guesswork? Was it the control arm bushes, the ball joints, or something completely unexpected like a loose steering rack or worn strut mounts? I'm really keen to get this sorted properly because the noise is starting to drive me crazy and I'm worried it might be something that could fail completely if I ignore it for too long.

Posted in the topic Audi DSG mechatronic failure at 90k km – repair or replace the w in the forum News and Announcements
    May 25, 2026 4:48 AM PDT

I'm dealing with a frustrating situation on my 2016 Audi A3 1.8T. The DSG transmission (DQ250) has started acting strange. Sometimes it won't engage reverse, other times it slams into gear, and occasionally I get a "gearbox malfunction" warning on the dash that goes away after restarting. I took it to a transmission shop in Dubai and they said the mechatronic unit is failing, quoting me 8,500 dirhams to replace it. But they also said I should consider replacing the clutches while they're in there, which would bring the total to almost 12k. I'm confused because the car only has 90k kilometers and I've done DSG services every 60k as recommended. Shouldn't the clutches last longer than that? I've been searching online to explore more about this issue and it seems like the mechatronic unit failing is common on these DQ250s, but the clutches are usually fine unless the car has been abused. I'm looking for a specialist in Sharjah who can properly diagnose whether I actually need clutches or just a mechatronic repair or replacement. Has anyone here had just the mechatronic unit replaced on a DSG without doing clutches? How did it work out long term? I don't want to spend 12k on a car that's worth maybe 25k. Any advice from Audi or VW owners who've been through DSG mechatronic failure would be hugely appreciated. Thanks.

Posted in the topic Used Mustang GT from a young guy in Sharjah – red flags or just in the forum News and Announcements
    May 25, 2026 3:16 AM PDT

I found a 2019 Mustang GT manual with low mileage, great price, but the seller is like 22 years old and the car has some aftermarket mods like an exhaust and intake. Nothing too crazy but still. I know how young guys drive these cars and I'm worried the engine has been bounced off the limiter more times than I can count. The car looks clean on the outside but I'm concerned about things like the MT82 transmission which is already known for issues even without abuse, plus potential clutch wear, differential problems, and whether the previous owner actually let the oil warm up before flooring it. I've been trying to find a place that really knows these Mustangs and can tell me if the car has been beaten on. A friend mentioned something called a dubai mustang pre purchase check that includes looking at the transmission mounts, checking the engine mounts for stress cracks, and even analyzing the computer for overrev events and how many times launch control was used. That sounds way more detailed than what a normal garage would do. Has anyone here actually used a dedicated inspection on a used Mustang before buying? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth spending the extra money or if I should just trust my gut and maybe bring a mechanic friend along. The seller seems like a decent guy but he also has that "these cars are meant to be driven hard" attitude which makes me nervous. Any advice from Mustang owners in the UAE would be great because I really want this car but I don't want to buy someone else's abused project.
